Joy & Love
Coming to RAW workshops is all about doing what you love. We help young people to ground their energy and channel their creativity into something that brings joy. It’s an environment we choose, where we can laugh and be happy. Our workshops are rooted in kindness, love & understanding.
Personal Growth & Nurture
RAW is a testing ground to explore, discover & unlock parts of yourself. We want to bring people up to stand in their own uniqueness and inspire them to be brave and courageous. If we can tap into and understand our strengths – our authentic, unfiltered selves – we can learn to be confident and embrace our differences.
Life Skills
We set our students up to be successful in whatever they choose to do. We believe in using creativity to understand different patterns of learning and behaviour. Not only are these the tools of an actor, but tools everyone can use to navigate the real world. We teach the importance of all kinds of transferable skills that can be gained from the study of acting such as listening, having empathy, focus & drive, grounding into reality & authenticity, and nurturing self-esteem.
Acceptance & Support
RAW is a safe space, a place to be welcomed and accepted, a place to belong, no matter who you are. Everything we do encourages teamwork and collaboration. We are all about being down-to-earth, unpretentious, real and raw. We encourage all our students to be open, inquisitive and curious about others.
Diversity
We embrace diversity, not only in our students but in our teaching styles and workshop materials as well. We use lots of different stimuli including but not limited to music, imagination, breathwork, meditation, vocal training, fact and psychology. Our teachers employ a range of learning techniques and have different areas of expertise to help students unlock and embrace their creativity.
Industry Expertise
Our dedicated team is made up of industry professionals who bring their knowledge, expertise and stories to educate and inspire our students. We are a training ground for professional actors and our teaching style is geared towards acting for TV, film & screen. We also educate our students on the wide range of jobs and opportunities that exist within the industry, such as roles in writing, lighting, sound, tech and production.
